About the role
- Principal Metering Engineer providing end to end technical leadership in renewable energy development at NextEra Energy. Focused on metering programming, configuration, testing, and troubleshooting.
Responsibilities
- Provides engineering, design, and development support
- Tracks and reports on project contractual execution and design progress
- Delivers company standards, policies, and support of organization
- Prepares communications, presentations and provides support at meetings
- Formulates research, and develops improvement measures
- Works with other departments within the organization to establish customer requirements
- Ability to work extended hours

Requirements
- Bachelor's – Engineering
- Experience: 3+ years in relevant P&C/Substation/Metering Engineering experience, and Project Management
- A minimum of 3–5 years in metering programming is required.
- Candidates should read protection and control drawings, understand instrument transformers (CTs, PTs, CVTs), be familiar with various metering technologies—especially Schneider Electric ION-8650 meters—and know meter-to-meter schemes, iron and copper loss compensation for transformers, generator tie line loss compensation, sharing losses, and meter programming or metering template creation.

- Experience: 5+ years P&C/Subs/Metering Engineering experience.
