About the role
- Finance and Risk Analyst working in a leading Virtual Power Plant in Europe. Analyzing market risks and supporting product profitability within the energy industry.
Responsibilities
- You are part of our Commercial Finance and Risk team.
- You are jointly responsible for the independent review of our products and the processes behind them.
- Together with the business unit, you analyze existing and new products and assess them in terms of profitability and market risk.
- You work closely with our colleagues in Controlling and Trading and keep track of KPIs and our trading activities.
- You further develop our trade controls related to deal bookings and monitor them regularly.
- You monitor trading limits and support the continuous development of our risk management manual.
- You maintain an overview of market risks and prepare ad-hoc analyses and recurring reports for management and for regular Risk Committee meetings.
Requirements
- You hold a degree in economics, engineering, or a natural science.
- You have professional experience in the energy sector, market risk, or risk management and want to apply your expertise with us.
- You communicate confidently in German and English, both verbally and in writing.
- You understand the fundamentals of market risk and have experience with VaR calculations and stress tests.
- You are proficient with MS Office products and have programming skills in Python or similar languages.
- You enjoy working with numbers, think analytically, and ideally have experience with statistical methods and performance metrics.
- You enjoy finding solutions and taking responsibility — you appreciate working independently as well as in a team.
