About the role
- Data Protection and Privacy Analyst role at Newsquest's Privacy Team. Manages Subject Access Requests and assists with data protection tasks, requiring strong analytical skills.
Responsibilities
- Managing Subject Access Requests (SARs) efficiently, ensuring requests are processed accurately and within regulatory deadlines.
- Responding to privacy-related requests, complaints, and queries, ensuring they are addressed or assigned to the appropriate person or team.
- Supporting the escalation process for data breaches and cybersecurity incidents.
- Assisting with Privacy Threshold Assessments (PTAs) and Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs).
- Helping develop and maintain awareness and training programs on data protection, including content on the Data Protection SharePoint site.
- Cataloguing and reviewing Records of Processing Activities (RoPA).
Requirements
- No prior experience with UK GDPR is necessary, but preferred.
- Strong analytical skills and excellent written communication.
- The ability to evaluate and process requests with care and precision.
- Familiarity with Microsoft 365 applications (an advantage).
- Previous experience in customer service or complaints handling (beneficial but not essential; training will be provided).
- Education: A-levels or higher, or relevant equivalent work-based experience.
