About the role

  • Data Protection and Privacy Analyst role at Newsquest's Privacy Team. Manages Subject Access Requests and assists with data protection tasks, requiring strong analytical skills.

Responsibilities

  • Managing Subject Access Requests (SARs) efficiently, ensuring requests are processed accurately and within regulatory deadlines.
  • Responding to privacy-related requests, complaints, and queries, ensuring they are addressed or assigned to the appropriate person or team.
  • Supporting the escalation process for data breaches and cybersecurity incidents.
  • Assisting with Privacy Threshold Assessments (PTAs) and Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs).
  • Helping develop and maintain awareness and training programs on data protection, including content on the Data Protection SharePoint site.
  • Cataloguing and reviewing Records of Processing Activities (RoPA).

Requirements

  • No prior experience with UK GDPR is necessary, but preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills and excellent written communication.
  • The ability to evaluate and process requests with care and precision.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft 365 applications (an advantage).
  • Previous experience in customer service or complaints handling (beneficial but not essential; training will be provided).
  • Education: A-levels or higher, or relevant equivalent work-based experience.
