About the role
- Color, Material, and Finish designer supporting design for major brands at Newell Brands. Collaborating across multiple product categories to develop materials and themes.
Responsibilities
- Support the design and execution for major brands.
- Develop materials and themes for implementation on the Color, Material and Finishes selected for product development.
- Research and forecast design trends.
- Synthesize and leverage trends that apply to our business categories to support color strategies.
- Produce detailed CMF manufacturing specifications, documentation, and guidelines for hard and/or soft good applications.
- Work closely with R&D and suppliers.
- Manage color consistency across product lines with manufacturers.
- Identify, evaluate, and source new materials and finishes for future development.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from a college or university, major in either CMF, product, graphic, fashion design or a related design field required.
- Minimum of at least 3-5 years in product development in a corporate or consultancy environment.
- A Portfolio that showcases your creativity, experience and skills is mandatory.
- Must have superior color acuity. (Munsell Hue Test)
- Proficiency in leading edge digital tools for CMF application & presentations (Keyshot, Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office)
- Understanding of color development and how to achieve desired results with both domestic and international vendors.
- Willingness to take direction and learn from others in a multi-disciplinary design environment.
- Strong global CMF conceptualization and implementation across consumer products showcasing ability to position and filter concepts through the lens of our brand consumers and product needs.
