About the role
- Scientific Consultant in computational protein design helping biotech companies achieve protein design goals. Utilizing Cradle’s AI platform and collaborating across engineering and product teams for customer success.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with Cradle customers to advise on identifying protein optimisation projects within their portfolios that are best suited to the Cradle platform.
- Help translate scientific goals of projects into objectives for the Cradle platform.
- Ensure quality/formatting of customer data is suitable for machine learning.
- Train scientists to use Cradle’s platform.
- Collaborate with engineering to ensure our platform outputs optimal protein designs to customers.
- Present reports to help the customer interpret and assess platform outputs and forecasts.
- Provide recommendations to inform go/no-go decisions and devise the most effective strategy for their projects.
Requirements
- PhD in bioengineering, bioinformatics, molecular biology, structural biology, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in a scientific role directly related to protein engineering in industrial biotech or biopharma.
- Proficiency in data analysis using Python and relevant data science libraries (pandas, scikit, scipy, matplotlib, etc.).
- Deep knowledge of the protein engineering R&D process, methods, and tooling.
- Excellent analytical and communication skills, with the ability to translate complex scientific concepts into clear, actionable insights.
- Proven ability to build strong relationships with a variety of stakeholders, including scientists and business leaders.
- Demonstrated interest in AI-guided protein design approaches.
