About the role
- Cloud Solutions Architect designing scalable AWS environments while transitioning to microservices architecture. Collaborating closely with development teams and implementing security and compliance standards in the cloud.
Responsibilities
- You design scalable, secure cloud architectures on AWS for our SaaS platform and help drive the transition to a microservices architecture.
- You evaluate new technologies and support their rollout into production.
- You automate cloud infrastructure and application deployments for other teams using common IaC tools (e.g., Terraform, AWS CDK).
- You have a hands-on mentality and enjoy implementing your ideas directly.
- You work closely with our development teams and management, contributing to architectural decisions and roadmaps for our SaaS platform.
- You promote cross-team awareness of DevOps and observability and support other teams in implementing these practices.
- You monitor applicable security and compliance requirements (e.g., SOC 2, ISO 27001) and help implement them in the AWS cloud.
Requirements
- Experience in system design or cloud architecture with one of the cloud hyperscalers (preferably AWS)
- Strong understanding of security, networking, and API design
- Strategic thinking, an ownership mentality, and enthusiasm for scaling
- Ability to work independently, a hands-on attitude, and team spirit
- Nice to have: certifications, e.g., AWS Solutions Architect, Azure Architect Expert
- Experience with monitoring/alerting tools (Datadog, Prometheus, or New Relic)
- Knowledge of Kubernetes, platform engineering, or SRE principles
