About the role

  • Design Manager leading the design team within NAB to solve complex banking problems through innovative design thinking and methodologies. Responsible for quality oversight, collaboration, and team development.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the design team within your domain/sub-domain ensuring effective collaboration and communication
  • Build strong stakeholder relationships to increase the impact and reach of design
  • Continuously explore emerging design trends, conduct research, and experiment with new design methodologies
  • Operationalise design strategies into daily activity for the design team
  • Ensure team members apply best practices in research and user testing within projects
  • Track in-flight and upcoming design work across all stages of the end to end experience
  • Enforce high standards for design quality across all projects
  • Advocate for the importance of inclusive design and provide training & support to the team
  • Support the design team in implementing the design system consistently across projects
  • Manage stakeholder relationships, facilitating clear communication on project goals and design progress

Requirements

  • 7+ years experience working as a product designer or UX/UI designer
  • Experience within finance or service industries
  • Demonstrated ability to partner and successfully work with multiple disciplines and complex teams
  • Excellent working knowledge of the design process, experience design methodologies and principles
  • Demonstrated strong experience working in Agile, using agile tools & methods
  • Proven experience setting and using design processes and tools to digitise experiences
  • Preference for tertiary qualification in related industry
