About the role

  • Criminal Justice Information Analyst I enhancing safety by collecting and analyzing criminal intelligence data. Supporting state correctional system operations at Florida Department of Corrections with various analytical responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Review and process public records requests, subpoenas, and individual profile reports in accordance with agency procedures, ensuring timeliness and confidentiality.
  • Analyze incident reports and related databases to identify patterns in criminal activity; correlate findings with ongoing investigations and provide actionable intelligence to the Chief of Intelligence/STIU Supervisor.
  • Collect, research, and analyze criminal intelligence data to identify individuals and groups, understand organizational hierarchies, track contraband movement, and establish event timelines.
  • Develop suspect and victim profiles and deliver intelligence products that enhance institutional security.
  • Provide accurate, timely analysis of crime patterns and trends to support resource allocation, improve apprehensions, and increase case clearances.
  • Identify crime series within and outside Corrections and coordinate information exchange with external law enforcement agencies.
  • Prepare and deliver clear, professional reports and visual intelligence products; communicate findings effectively in both written and verbal formats.
  • Provide administrative support, including managing calendars, scheduling appointments, coordinating meetings, maintaining office supplies, and addressing team needs to ensure efficient office operations.
  • Support Security Threat Intelligence Officers statewide with intelligence and operational assistance.

Requirements

  • Please note, when submitting a college/university degree, if selected for this position official transcripts will be required.
  • Must have a minimum of two (2) years’ direct experience with collecting and analyzing data then producing related reports.
  • Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Support of knowledge, skills, and abilities should be demonstrated on the application, in the education, in the work experience, in the work sample, in the interview and/or during reference checks.
