Finance Business Controller role at Paaschburg & Wunderlich, overseeing financial performance and strategic planning in Glinde, Germany. Driving business insights and decision-making with an international team.
Responsibilities
Sales & performance monitoring
Build and maintain reports on sales performance (revenue, margin, product mix, channel and customer performance)
Analyze revenue drivers and profitability and derive concrete recommendations for action
Planning, budgeting & forecasting
Support the preparation of the annual budget, rolling forecasts and regular financial projections
Monitor key assumptions and analyze variances together with the respective departments
Management reporting & business insights
Prepare monthly performance reports (P&L, KPIs, cost and margin analyses) to support management decisions
Produce clear analyses of risks and opportunities with a concise, business-oriented interpretation
Cross-functional collaboration
Work closely with Sales, Operations and Management to improve planning quality and steer company performance
Contribute to process and data quality improvements (without a strong BI focus)
Ad-hoc analyses & strategic projects
Support business cases, scenario analyses and short-term analysis requests
Contribute to strategic topics such as pricing, product profitability, customer initiatives and cost optimization
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Controlling, Business Administration or a comparable field (Master’s degree or additional certifications advantageous)
Minimum 5 years’ experience in FP&A, Controlling, Commercial Finance or a comparable role
Solid hands-on experience in budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis in collaboration with business partners
Good understanding of sales analysis as well as margin and profitability drivers (experience in wholesale or distribution is an advantage)
Excellent Excel skills; experience with ERP and reporting tools (e.g., SAP S/4)
Very good English skills (at least B2)
French and German language skills are a strong advantage (collaboration with French- and German-speaking stakeholders)
Structured, analytical and pragmatic working style; ability to work independently in a dynamic environment
Clear communication skills and the ability to translate numbers into well-founded decisions
