Solar Electrical Field Project Engineer assisting Electrical Assistant and Project Manager in large utility-scale solar projects. Responsibilities include contract administration, material acquisition, and project coordination.
Responsibilities
Responsible for assisting the Electrical Assistant and Electrical Project Manager in the administrative and technical management of large utility scale Solar projects.
Assist in supervising all activities related to contract administration, change orders, submittals, procurement, and scheduling.
Coordinates project start-up by reviewing owner contract, assisting with development of startup checklist and site utilization plan, and coordinating mobilization.
Expedites materials by developing submittal log, establishing fabrication & delivery schedule, confirming delivery of materials, and conducting submittal/SD review process.
Coordinates construction activities by strategizing with Superintendent, conducting subcontractor pre-construction meetings, and maintaining activity tracking logs.
Facilitates project administration by expediting subcontractor and vendor agreements, preparing meeting agendas and minutes, and maintaining jobsite files.
Tracks project costs by processing subcontractor and vendor pay requests and assisting with tracking owner payments.
Supports management for change order process by creating change requests and reviewing scope changes.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or related discipline
Six months to one-year minimum Solar internship or full-time experience as a project engineer or assistant project engineer in the construction industry
Strong computer skills are a necessity, including familiarity with construction project management applications
Strong communication and interpersonal skills are required to interface directly with owners' representatives, the A/E team, building departments and other team members
Basic finance skills are required.
