About the role

  • IT System Administrator managing system support and administration for diverse client projects. Engaging in technical support within a hybrid work model in a growing IT consulting firm.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the central point of contact for customers via phone, email and remote access.
  • Independently accept, process and document service requests and incidents.
  • Provide technical support and system monitoring, including analysis, prioritization and resolution of incidents related to virtualization, Windows and Linux server services.
  • Administer server hardware, storage systems, operating systems and networks.
  • Proactively monitor customer systems and perform regular health checks.
  • Identify root causes and derive improvement measures.
  • Plan, execute and control managed services in accordance with agreed SLAs.
  • Participate in change management and consistently document all processes.
  • Prepare service reports and support Continual Service Improvement (CSI).
  • Work closely with customers and internal teams to ensure stable, secure and high-quality service delivery.

Requirements

  • Completed vocational training in the IT field (e.g. IT specialist in system integration) or equivalent qualification.
  • Career changers with relevant practical experience are welcome.
  • You are curious, enjoy developing professionally and want to continuously expand your knowledge in a modern IT environment.
  • Professional and friendly demeanor when interacting with customers and colleagues is a matter of course for you.
  • You enjoy working in a team but can also take on tasks independently.
  • Proficient in working with Windows (client/server) and Linux systems.
  • Familiar with terms such as DNS and DHCP.
  • You have a solid foundational understanding of networks that you can further develop through practical work.
  • Good hands-on experience with VMware technologies (Broadcom / Omnissa) as well as knowledge of cloud environments.
  • You are interested in IT security topics and actively apply or continuously deepen this knowledge in day-to-day operations.
  • Enthusiasm for new technologies and trends, especially in cloud and security, combined with a willingness to pursue continuous training.
  • Very good German language skills, both spoken and written.
