About the role

Responsibilities
- Lead all aspects of the software development life-cycle from conception to deployment
- Direct processes using Middlebury's enterprise database systems to evaluate and document activities
- Architect solutions using appropriate software architecture design patterns
- Lead the deployment and operation of enterprise software applications
- Develop Quality Assurance documentation and testing plans
- Ensure high availability of services and reduce data breach risks
- Model software development best practices and promote knowledge sharing
- Monitor and analyze current and emerging trends and technologies
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, a relevant technical field, or comparable work experience
- 10 years of progressive experience with demonstrated success in software development
- Extensive knowledge of application technologies, development tools, data-integration techniques and security issues
- Demonstrable experience with software architecture design patterns and maintainable code
- Thorough understanding of the application stack from protocols to client-side rendering
- Proficiency with relational SQL database systems, such as Oracle, MySQL, MariaDB, or SQL Server
- Knowledge of application profiling, load and quality-assurance testing
- Excellent written and oral communications skills
