About the role
- Freelance Embedded Software Engineer developing hardware products at Kickmaker. Engaging in firmware design, software development, and international project participation.
Responsibilities
- Define project requirements based on client needs
- Design and develop firmware and software
- Unit testing, functional testing & documentation
- Integration and continuous deployment
- Iterative sprint cycle incorporating client feedback
- Ensure the quality of established processes and compliance with applicable HSE standards
- Contribute to defining eco-design approaches and industrial reshoring strategies
- Participate in, establish, and perform product life cycle analyses to improve products' CSR impacts
- Implement eco-design analysis guidelines into product development
Requirements
- Degree from an engineering school or a Master’s in embedded systems
- Minimum 5 years' experience in firmware development for embedded products:
- Microcontroller development in C, C++ on targets such as STM32, ESP32, Nordic...
- Embedded Linux development (Qt, Yocto...)
- Development of test tools (Python, C#, Java...)
- Knowledge of or ability to work with various technologies, for example:
- Field buses: CAN, RS-232, RS-485
- Wireless communication: BLE, LoRa, LTE
- Sensor interfaces: UART, I2C, SPI
- Knowledge of electronics (schematic reading, oscilloscope, logic analyzer...)
- Good knowledge of motor control and control/feedback algorithms is a plus
- English is a must.
