About the role

  • Group FP&A Manager at Metcash driving financial performance and reporting across various business sectors. Leading planning processes and strategic financial guidance to senior stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Lead Group-wide financial planning and reporting, including the five-year plan, annual budgets, quarterly forecasts and monthly performance reporting across P&L, balance sheet and cash flows.
  • Prepare Board and Executive strategy materials, delivering high-quality analysis, overlays, sensitivities and clear narratives on key performance drivers.
  • Act as a trusted finance partner to the Total Tools Hardware Group and corporate cost centre owners, providing insight, challenge and guidance to drive performance and optimise costs.
  • Partner with Corporate Accounting to ensure integrity, consistency and governance across actuals, budgets, forecasts and cost allocation methodologies.
  • Lead continuous improvement of FP&A processes, systems and models (including TM1), driving automation, standardisation and higher-value analysis.
  • Support strategic initiatives including Investment Committee submissions, M&A due diligence and major Group projects, providing robust commercial analysis and decision support.

Requirements

  • CA or CPA qualification with deep experience across FP&A, management reporting and accounting.
  • Background in retail, FMCG or supply chain-led environments.
  • Strong ownership of planning and reporting systems (ideally TM1 and Power BI).
  • Advanced financial modelling capability, including scenario analysis, cash flow modelling and investment appraisal.
  • Proven experience influencing senior stakeholders and leading cross-functional deliverables.
  • A track record of driving automation and process improvement in finance functions.
  • Strong commercial acumen and the ability to distil complexity into clear insight.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including Executive-level presentations.
  • A highly analytical mindset, attention to detail and ability to work with large, complex data sets.
  • Strong relationship-building skills and the confidence to challenge constructively.
  • Being self-driven, adaptable and effective in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
