Responsibilities
Deliver advanced hands-on support for infrastructure services and deployments across office, manufacturing, distribution, admin and lab environments.
Acts as an expert “hands and feet” resource and ensures infrastructure stability and uptime.
Collaborate with others in local and global IT groups in overlapping technologies and provide after-hours support as needed.
Traveling to other Medtronic sites as required.
Develops, documents, and configures systems specifications that conform to defined architecture standards, address business requirements, and processes.
Involved in planning of system and development deployment as well as being responsible for meeting hardware and software compliance and security standards.
Evaluates the interface between hardware and software, operational requirements, and characteristics of the overall system.
Establishes, documents system design, parameters, and formats, ensures hardware and software systems functionality, performance, and compatibility, and coordinates and/or modifies system parameters in terms of configurations.
Actively identifies system functionality or performance deficiencies, executes changes to existing systems, and tests functionality of the system to correct deficiencies and maintain more effective data handling, data integrity, conversion, input/output requirements, and storage.
May act as a liaison and point of contact with key technology vendor technologists or other business functions.
Serve as a trusted advisor to stakeholders, ensuring needs are heard and addressed promptly, and escalate as appropriate.
Provide onsite support for troubleshooting, diagnostics, escalation, and maintenance of infrastructure, ensuring uninterrupted IT operations.
Coordinate with vendors for quotations, procurement, and delivery of goods and services; assess and prioritize site-specific or regional demands.
Lead IT efforts for local projects from inception to completion, including evaluating vendor use versus internal resources.
Lead device rollouts, migrations, and refreshes.
Collaborate with architects and engineering teams to implement design changes, provide site coverage for infrastructure projects and major incidents, and participate in on-call rotation for health checks and assessments.
Manage and coordinate local I&O delivery and implementation of site infrastructure.
Requirements
High school diploma (or equivalent) and 4+ years of experience
3+ years of hands-on experience in configuring, deploying, managing and supporting networks, servers, storage and backup solutions.
Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
Advanced knowledge of networking, device security, enterprise applications.
Can execute infrastructure hands & feet tasks, rack, stack, console, cable, etc. without guidance.
Has the ability to troubleshoot, diagnose and resolve issues with infrastructure equipment
Experience with Cisco, Juniper or Dell products
Reliable transportation or ability to rent a vehicle
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Previous Medtronic experience
CCNA certification or equivalent.
Knowledge of cloud and on-premise data center services.
Experience in managing UPS, power supply and cabling.
Experience in leading or coordinating IT projects.
Experience with virtualization technologies such as VMware vSphere.
Understanding of cybersecurity concepts.
Experience with audio/visual and unified communications.
Proficiency with SCCM, Intune, PowerShell scripting.
Strong skills in analyzing logs, debugging, and optimizing IT infrastructure.
