About the role

  • Bilingual Communications Specialist contributing to marketing and communications at McCarthy Tétrault, a leading Canadian law firm. Involves strategic content production in both English and French.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting go-to-market objectives for Industry and Practice Area groups through strategic and tactical development of marketing copy, content, and internal and external communications
  • Constructing clear and crisp copy for marketing materials, ads, press releases, website and intranet content, newsletters, articles, new hire announcements, info sheets, social media, deal summaries and other communication pieces
  • Drafting, copy editing and proofing internal communications
  • Writing and editing award submissions
  • Applying content marketing strategies to support practice/industry group objectives
  • Working with the Manager and Senior Director to develop and implement marketing and communications plans
  • Staying current on marketing and communications strategies and tactics
  • Maintaining editorial control of content on various channels to ensure appropriateness, quality, and appearance
  • Working with stakeholders to proactively identify and pitch ideas for thought leadership content
  • Ensuring voice and language of content are consistent with brand standards
  • Contributing to McCarthy Voice/Lavoix McCarthy style guide

Requirements

  • 5-7 years of related experience, ideally in a law firm, professional services firm, or agency environment
  • A completed degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing or Commerce preferred
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of content marketing strategies and tactics
  • Strong knowledge of social media strategies, best practices and analytics
  • Exceptional writing, editing and proofreading (quality control) skills
  • Bilingual (English/French) written and verbal communication skills is required
  • High level of organizational awareness and proven ability to work in a high-performing, multi-stakeholder environment
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of an integrated, national team
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills
  • Ability to develop strong relationships at all organizational levels
  • Exceptional project management and content management skills
