About the role

  • Roadway/Drainage/Traffic Engineer joining Ohio team for multi-billion dollar design-build projects. Involves design work, collaboration with teams, and regulatory documentation preparation.

Responsibilities

  • Support the design process by preparing construction documents, plans, maps, and technical reports.
  • Assist in developing drawings for highways, structures, and traffic-related projects.
  • Gather and review background information for project sites, including as-built plans and existing utility services.
  • Contribute to quantity take-offs and preparation of project cost estimates.
  • Collaborate with design technicians to ensure accurate and timely deliverables.
  • Prepare documentation for regulatory agencies to secure necessary permits.
  • Assist in organizing materials for client and project meetings.
  • Participate in internal project meetings and provide input as needed.
  • Conduct occasional site visits and report findings to Project Managers.
  • Communicate and coordinate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Engage in training sessions to enhance proficiency in design software and technical elements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering required.
  • 4 to 10+ years of progressive transportation engineering experience.
  • PE License required. Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certificate and be on-track to obtain a PE License within one year, applicable.
  • Experience in preparing Preliminary Engineering to Final Design Plans is required. Post Design is desirable.
  • Knowledgeable in traffic engineering/transportation planning software such as Excel, AUTOCAD, Bentley MicroStation/ORD. Civil 3D is acceptable substitute for Bentley products.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills - proficient in the Microsoft Office suite of products.
  • Self-motivated, flexible, and able to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
