About the role

  • Structural Engineer responsible for design and supervision of building projects at WSP in Lyon. Focus on concrete, metal, and wooden structures in the construction and civil engineering phase.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the Structural Engineer on design-management projects from the design through the construction phases.
  • Produce or supervise the production of technical design studies.
  • Serve as the technical and/or contractual contact with the Client (Owner).
  • Make design decisions, size/dimension structural elements, and prepare written technical documentation/specifications.
  • Supervise the development of BIM models.
  • Analyze contractors’ bids and participate in contract award processes.
  • Lead the construction supervision phase and verify the technical compliance of the works.

Requirements

  • Degree in Civil Engineering (engineering diploma) or Master’s degree with a specialization in structures.
  • At least 10 years of substantial experience in design management (maîtrise d’œuvre) and construction supervision of structures.
  • Strong theoretical and practical knowledge of reinforced concrete structures, steel and timber frames, and site infrastructure (roads and utilities).
  • Rigour, curiosity and an open mind.
  • Professionalism, team spirit and strong communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Graitec software.
  • Fluent English.
