About the role
- Senior Utility Engineer at Michael Baker International handling utility design and coordination tasks. Leading projects in Midvale, UT with a focus on client communication and regulatory documentation.
Responsibilities
- Lead with gathering background information related to a project site which includes reviewing as-built plans and mapping existing utility service
- Lead with the preparation of drawings such as those needed for highways, structures, and water/wastewater projects
- Lead with quantities and project cost estimates
- Coordinating with design technicians to ensure timely and accurate deliverables
- Lead with document preparation for regulatory agencies to obtain required permits
- Lead with preparation for client and project meetings
- Lead internal project meetings and participates as necessary
- Occasionally visits project sites, and reports findings to Engineers and/or Project Managers
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET Accredited University; Master’s Degree is a plus
- 10+ years of related experience
- Utah P.E. or ability to obtain within 6 months
- Expert with AutoCAD/Civil 3D and/or MicroStation and Microsoft Office Suite preferred
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Self-motivated, flexible, and able to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Possess strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to efficiently work independently within a multi-disciplinary team and prioritize project assignments to meet competing deadlines
