Responsibilities
Collaborate directly with Partners to understand clients’ businesses and systems, planning and performing Compilation, Review, and Audit engagements.
Prepare, review, and finalize financial statements with accuracy, completeness, and adherence to professional standards.
Oversee engagement workflows, monitoring budgets, deadlines, and quality throughout the process.
Assign, supervise, and review staff work while providing guidance and feedback to support professional growth.
Review and prepare corporate, personal, and special tax filings, identifying opportunities for tax planning and advising clients on strategies.
Conduct accounting and tax research, documenting findings and communicating recommendations to clients and Partners.
Build and maintain strong client relationships through regular communication, responsiveness, and tailored advice.
Manage client expectations, resolve issues, and oversee time records.
Provide leadership by modeling professionalism, technical expertise, and client service while mentoring and motivating staff.
Stay up to date with accounting standards, tax regulations, and industry developments.
Support business development by networking, promoting the firm’s services, and growing client relationships.
Requirements
Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, or Business.
CPA designation achieved through public accounting.
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in accounting or a related role.
Strong knowledge of accounting, tax, and assurance engagements with the ability to manage audit or review engagements from start to finish.
Proven leadership and networking skills, with the ability to build strong relationships across all levels of an organization.
Proficiency in MS Office Suite; knowledge of QuickBooks Online and CCH iFirm is an asset.
Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
Self-motivated, proactive, and accountable, able to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
