About the role

  • Accounting Manager collaborating with Partners and clients in audit and tax engagements. Leading team development and ensuring high-quality financial reporting in a dynamic firm culture.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate directly with Partners to understand clients’ businesses and systems, planning and performing Compilation, Review, and Audit engagements.
  • Prepare, review, and finalize financial statements with accuracy, completeness, and adherence to professional standards.
  • Oversee engagement workflows, monitoring budgets, deadlines, and quality throughout the process.
  • Assign, supervise, and review staff work while providing guidance and feedback to support professional growth.
  • Review and prepare corporate, personal, and special tax filings, identifying opportunities for tax planning and advising clients on strategies.
  • Conduct accounting and tax research, documenting findings and communicating recommendations to clients and Partners.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships through regular communication, responsiveness, and tailored advice.
  • Manage client expectations, resolve issues, and oversee time records.
  • Provide leadership by modeling professionalism, technical expertise, and client service while mentoring and motivating staff.
  • Stay up to date with accounting standards, tax regulations, and industry developments.
  • Support business development by networking, promoting the firm’s services, and growing client relationships.

Requirements

  • Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, or Business.
  • CPA designation achieved through public accounting.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in accounting or a related role.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting, tax, and assurance engagements with the ability to manage audit or review engagements from start to finish.
  • Proven leadership and networking skills, with the ability to build strong relationships across all levels of an organization.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite; knowledge of QuickBooks Online and CCH iFirm is an asset.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and accountable, able to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
