About the role
- Structural Project Engineer providing support for civil engineering design projects. Collaborating with engineers, planners, and architects on structural calculations and drawings.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for providing structural engineering support by completing parts of large design projects or the entirety of less complex projects.
- Collaborating with project engineers and managers in the generation and production of structural calculations and drawings for projects involving bridges, walls, culverts, and other civil structures.
- Collaborate with a team of engineers, planners, and landscape architects.
- Perform in-depth structural calculations based on applicable structural codes and local standards.
- Prepare computer-generated engineering drawings according to established standards and procedures using latest AutoCAD program.
- Revise or change drawings and complete moderate calculations with specific instructions.
- Prepare project specifications, summaries of approximate quantities and engineers cost estimates.
- Create informational graphic exhibits for internal and external meetings.
- Complete work within scope, schedule, and budget limits.
- Communicate as appropriate to project managers and project team concerning questions, concerns, progress, and results.
- Performs Level 1 quality assurance/quality control.
Requirements
- Undergraduate or graduate degree from accredited program in civil engineering with an emphasis in structural engineering.
- Professional Engineering licensure or ability to obtain PE within one year.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience with an emphasis in structural engineering.
- Strong industry relationships and an understanding of municipal, state, and federal criteria.
- Demonstrated project and program management experience.
- Valid driver's license, in conjunction with successfully passing the Company’s MVR.
