About the role

  • Lead Engineer managing rail signalling and control systems at Transport for NSW. Overseeing teams, ensuring safety and compliance in rail transport infrastructure in a hybrid-friendly role.

Responsibilities

  • lead and manage a team of engineers and technical specialists
  • support Signalling & Control Systems to ensure safety
  • oversee the assessment and monitoring of Technical Assurance Organisations (TAOs)
  • undertake investigations and performance assessments
  • contribute to the development, governance, and continuous improvement of engineering standards

Requirements

  • relevant tertiary qualification
  • professional engineering registration (or ability to obtain registration)
  • rail signalling design experience in both conventional signalling and new and emerging technologies
  • demonstrable extensive experience in rail signalling design
  • knowledge of train operations and network management principles
  • proven ability to apply and advance digital engineering and model-based systems engineering (MBSE) tools and techniques
