About the role

  • IP Operations Specialist role managing the company’s IP database, processes, and documentation. Supporting the IP Department in efficient asset management and client support.

Responsibilities

  • Reporting to the Vice President & Asst. General Counsel, Intellectual Property
  • Supports the IP Department to ensure the efficient management of the Company’s IP database, processes, and documentation related to the Company’s global IP portfolio.
  • Manages the repository of company IP assets, including ensuring annuities are paid.
  • Oversees database data uploads, corresponding with database support, ensuring operational functionality, and entering information from outside counsel or about acquired or divested assets as needed.
  • Oversees the database payment of IP maintenance fees and updates it to reflect any necessary fee instruction changes.
  • Generates reports and dashboards from the database as requested by the IP team or other internal partners.
  • Provides administrative and operational support to the IP team for IP prosecution, litigation, licensing, and transactional matters.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree with 1-2 years IP experience in a corporation or law firm OR Associate’s degree with 2-4 years IP experience in a corporation or law firm, OR equivalent experience.
  • Experience in IP operations, legal administration, or similar role (pharmaceutical or biotech industry preferred).
  • Experience with IP management systems (e.g., Clarivate systems, CPI, Anaqua) and docketing processes.
  • Working knowledge of global patent and trademark procedures preferred.
  • Must be highly organized and have meticulous attention to detail.
