About the role

  • Junior Engineer supporting the setup, operation, and troubleshooting of AV technologies at LSEG. Focused on delivering a reliable AV service and excellent user experience.

Responsibilities

  • Supports the setup, operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of audio-visual and video conferencing technologies across meeting rooms, event spaces, and corporate environments.
  • Assist in the setup, testing, and operation of AV equipment for meetings, presentations, and events.
  • Provide first-line support for issues related to projectors, displays, microphones, speakers, control systems, and video conferencing platforms.
  • Support day-to-day service desk requests related to AV needs.
  • Help with room checks and preventive maintenance of AV facilities.
  • Diagnose and resolve common AV issues (e.g., connectivity problems, audio dropouts, display failures).
  • Escalate complex technical problems to senior engineers or vendors when necessary.
  • Assist with installation and configuration of new AV hardware under supervision.
  • Perform regular checks to ensure equipment is functioning correctly.
  • Help maintain inventory of AV equipment and accessories.
  • Deliver technical support with a helpful, professional, and customer‑focused attitude.
  • Work closely with IT teams, facility management, and external suppliers/vendors.
  • Support live events with basic AV operation (e.g., microphones, switchers, cameras).
  • Maintain accurate documentation of equipment, room configurations, and troubleshooting steps.
  • Update user guides and simple how‑to instructions for end users when required.

Requirements

  • Basic understanding of AV technologies: Displays, projectors, DSPs, microphones, speakers
  • Videoconferencing systems (Teams Rooms, Zoom Rooms, etc.)
  • Basic networking concepts (IP addresses, cabling, bandwidth)
  • Familiarity with AV control systems (Cisco, Polycom, Crestron, AMX, Extron) is beneficial but not required.
  • Ability to use common troubleshooting tools (cable testers, network utilities).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Good organisational and time‑management skills.
  • Willingness to learn new technologies and undergo training.
  • Problem-solving mindset with attention to detail.
  • A-levels, vocational training, or equivalent technical qualification (preferred but not essential).
  • Any AV-related certifications (e.g., AVIXA CTS) are an advantage.
  • Basic IT certifications (CompTIA A+, N+, or equivalent) beneficial.
  • Experience in an AV, IT support, or related technical role.
  • Experience supporting meetings or events in a professional environment is desirable.
