About the role

• PHP Developer for backend development using Laravel framework. Collaborating in agile teams to enhance in-house HR software for diverse clients in Germany.

Responsibilities

• You contribute your ideas to our in-house HR software and work on extending and optimizing existing features or developing new ones.
• For these projects you implement backend services (REST APIs) based on PHP 8.3 and the Laravel framework.
• We coordinate twice daily as a team (stand-up meeting & daily wrap-up), and depending on current projects you may work independently or, when needed, collaborate with your team via pair or mob programming.
• You assess how our new UX concepts can be implemented most effectively and always find solutions for complex background processes.
• In addition, you are responsible for the smooth operation of our software and write clean code (static code analysis using PHPStan) and tests (unit and integration tests) to ensure this.
• If colleagues from other departments need support with our software, you act as an internal point of contact for questions.

Requirements

• You have several years of experience programming with PHP (at least v8.x) and have worked extensively with Laravel.
• You have solid knowledge of relational databases, preferably MariaDB 10.
• You have experience with agile software development (Scrum) and actively embrace team spirit.
• You are familiar with software architecture (e.g., SOLID, design patterns).
• You are experienced working in a macOS development environment (work device: Apple MacBook).
• You have experience in automated testing, especially with PHPUnit.
• You have a feel for digital innovation; creativity, attention to detail, and analytical thinking distinguish you.
• You have good German language skills, both written and spoken.
