About the role

  • Indirect Tax Analyst managing ICMS and ISS obligations and regulations for 42 branches. Involve in tax calculations, compliance, and supporting fiscal audits in logistics company.

Responsibilities

  • Calculate own ICMS and DIFAL for 42 branches and prepare corresponding payment slips;
  • Calculate own and withheld ISSQN for 42 branches and prepare corresponding payment slips;
  • Validate and submit electronic invoices (NF-e) for shipments for repair, inter-branch transfers, returns of goods on loan (comodato), and scrap sales to the State Finance Department (SEFAZ);
  • Control outgoing shipment invoices to avoid unintended taxation;
  • Record CT-e discrepancy events;
  • File the recipient’s manifest for NF-e when there is a mismatch between invoice data and goods received or when the operation is unknown;
  • Prepare municipal and state ancillary tax obligations (GIA-SP, SPED Fiscal);
  • Analyze recovery of municipal and state tax credits;
  • Monitor tax legislation continuously at federal, state and municipal levels;
  • Monitor fiscal status and issue Tax Clearance Certificates (CNDs) for State, FGTS, Simplified, Municipal, State Attorney General’s Office (PGE) Active Debt, Municipal Active Debt, Bankruptcy and Judicial Recovery;
  • Track, open and file processes and notifications in each State’s electronic domicile;
  • Reconcile accounting accounts for municipal and state taxes;
  • Continuously monitor tax rules configured in SAP and e-Cargo and provide user support;
  • Validate tax registration for materials and services;
  • Control validity of licenses/permits (alvarás);
  • Pay Fire Department fees/guides;
  • Renew and control validity of powers of attorney for dispatch agents/brokers;
  • Accrue and pay dispatch agents/brokers;
  • Provide support during financial close;
  • Provide tax support to internal clients regarding tax legislation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree;
  • Knowledge of fiscal documents (NF-e, CT-e, NFS-e, etc.);
  • Experience calculating indirect taxes (ICMS and ISS);
  • Advanced Excel (VLOOKUP, PivotTables, etc.);
  • Analytical mindset and results orientation;
