About the role

  • Senior Service Engineer providing advanced technical support for battery energy storage systems. Analyzing operational issues and collaborating with multiple teams for continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary technical resource for AEROS-related issues on operational BESS sites, providing Level 2/3 support to our field personnel for software and integrated system troubleshooting.
  • Analyze system logs, alarms, and performance data to identify root causes of operational issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with Software, Network, and Performance Engineering teams to resolve escalated issues, apply patches, and validate fixes in live environments.
  • Maintain and update service documentation, including troubleshooting guides, knowledge base articles, and SOPs for software-related service tasks.
  • Support remote diagnostics and, when necessary, provide on-site assistance for critical issues impacting system availability or performance.
  • Monitor trends in recurring issues and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives for service processes and system reliability.
  • Assist in lifecycle planning by identifying software dependencies, obsolescence risks, and upgrade requirements for deployed systems.
  • Provide technical training and guidance to field service technicians and engineers on AEROS functionality and integrated system troubleshooting.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, electrical engineering, or related technical field.
  • 5+ years of experience in software/hardware troubleshooting for complex systems, preferably in industrial, BESS, or renewable energy applications.
  • Strong understanding of Linux environments, networking fundamentals, and system-level integration concepts.
  • Proficiency in analyzing logs, debugging basic software issues, and using diagnostic tools.
  • Familiarity with networking and serial communication protocols such as SPI, I2C, UART, and CAN, Modbus TCP/IP.
  • Excellent communication skills for cross-functional collaboration and customer interaction.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced multi-project environment.
  • Preferred but not required: Proficiency in C, C++, C#, Python, Perl, or other scripting language for analytics and diagnostics.
  • Knowledge of CMMS systems, BESS maintenance, and asset lifecycle management practices.
  • Prior exposure to SCADA systems, battery & energy management platforms, and power electronics.
