About the role

  • Lead Substation Engineer designing high voltage utility substation projects at Leidos. Responsible for team leadership and project management in a flexible hybrid environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead conceptual and detailed HV and MV Substation design for medium to large scale utilities/substations
  • Take complete ownership of each project, including management of technical design, staffing, schedule, and budget
  • Lead, mentor, and grow a diverse team of engineers, designers, and drafters
  • Develop and review project proposals, including scopes of work and cost estimates
  • Perform Quality Control reviews on medium to large substation projects
  • Continually improve and maximize team quality and efficiency

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or other related degree
  • Eight (8+) plus years of direct experience in substation design
  • Registered Professional Engineer (P.E) license (preferred)
  • Master's degree in related field (preferred)
  • Experience leading a project team (preferred)
