About the role
- Lead Substation Engineer designing high voltage utility substation projects at Leidos. Responsible for team leadership and project management in a flexible hybrid environment.
Responsibilities
- Lead conceptual and detailed HV and MV Substation design for medium to large scale utilities/substations
- Take complete ownership of each project, including management of technical design, staffing, schedule, and budget
- Lead, mentor, and grow a diverse team of engineers, designers, and drafters
- Develop and review project proposals, including scopes of work and cost estimates
- Perform Quality Control reviews on medium to large substation projects
- Continually improve and maximize team quality and efficiency
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or other related degree
- Eight (8+) plus years of direct experience in substation design
- Registered Professional Engineer (P.E) license (preferred)
- Master's degree in related field (preferred)
- Experience leading a project team (preferred)
