About the role
- Legal counsel supporting the legal needs of a multi-disciplinary engineering and architecture firm. Collaborating with General Counsel on compliance, governance, and operational legal matters.
Responsibilities
- Corporate governance, entity management and board-related matters
- Statutory and regulatory compliance
- Project contracts and office lease review
- Employment law and HR support
- Litigation oversight and project dispute resolution support
- Collections support
- Intellectual property and data management
- Assist the General Counsel with special projects and firm-wide legal initiatives
Requirements
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
- Active license to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to work independently while collaborating closely with the General Counsel
- Practical, business-oriented approach to legal advice
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Experience with multi-state or multi-entity organizations
- Experience with an engineering, architecture or construction-related firm is preferred
- 7+ years of relevant corporate legal experience (law firm or in-house)
