About the role

  • Leiter Diensthundewesen managing military dog teams for Klüh Security across Germany deployment. Responsible for training, health, and compliance with legal regulations for service dogs.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direction and oversight for the training of security escort dog teams in the regional areas to ensure contractual obligations are met
  • Prepare and supervise service dog examinations in accordance with DPOBw
  • Ensure compliance with the provisions of the German Animal Welfare Act (TierSchG) and the Animal Welfare Dog Keeping Ordinance (TierSchHuV)
  • Monitor the care and health status of service dogs
  • Provide guidance to assigned service dog trainers in the regions
  • Organize procurement and placement of service dogs as required
  • Cooperate with the relevant military authorities
  • Participate in continuing education to keep your professional knowledge up to date

Requirements

  • Experience working with working dogs (German Shepherd/Malinois) and experience as a helper/decoy in protection training (Figurant) is mandatory
  • Possession of a permit to train service dogs under §11 of the TierSchG and knowledge of the DPOBw are advantageous to enable immediate involvement in dog training
  • Current or former service as a soldier with the German Armed Forces (Bundeswehr), preferably in the service dog unit
  • Experience in civilian commercial military security operations involving the deployment of service dogs
  • Strong organizational skills for optimal time management and the ability to work independently
  • Willingness to travel throughout Germany is required
