Responsibilities

  • Stay informed on industry developments, competitive dynamics, and compliance updates within the employee benefits sector
  • Establish and nurture a comprehensive prospect database through professional networking, client referrals, and strategic marketing initiatives
  • Meet or surpass designated revenue objectives and performance benchmarks
  • Identify, develop, and convert new business opportunities within the employee benefits and group coverage marketplace
  • Deliver customized benefit proposals to potential clients, showcasing value propositions and competitive advantages
  • Create and implement targeted market penetration strategies to strengthen presence throughout New Jersey and surrounding Tri-State markets
  • Partner with internal actuarial and account management teams to facilitate smooth client onboarding processes
  • Generate revenue expansion through strategic business development initiatives and new account capture

Requirements

  • Outstanding verbal, written, and interpersonal communication capabilities
  • Highly self-directed with strong independent work ethic and time management skills
  • Current insurance license (mandatory)
  • Comprehensive knowledge of group coverage products and employee benefit platforms
  • 2–5 years of relevant experience in employee benefits or commercial insurance business development
  • Proven ability to recognize prospects, address challenges, and finalize transactions
  • Documented success in new business generation and client development
  • Strategic thinking ability with talent for analyzing client requirements and developing innovative solutions
  • Current understanding of industry trends and regulatory framework in employee benefits
  • Pre-existing professional relationships within New Jersey or broader Tri-State marketplace
  • History of consistently achieving or surpassing revenue targets
  • Background in entrepreneurial or high-growth business environments
