About the role

  • Social Media Coordinator managing social media presence and campaigns for cultural institutions in Berlin. Engaging with diverse audiences through various platforms while optimizing content strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Design, contribute, and participate.
  • Conceptualize and produce posts for the HKW’s social media channels: Instagram, Threads, Facebook, TikTok, LinkedIn
  • Daily maintenance of social media channels and community management
  • Plan and create (including editing & post-production) audiovisual content (interviews, short photo series, clips)
  • Commission and collaborate with designers (internal and external)
  • Implement established strategies to increase user numbers and to optimize the content and tone of communication
  • Develop and run new social media campaigns and formats
  • Source, create, select, and prepare suitable texts, photo or video material, including clarifying copyrights when using images and text sources
  • Cross-departmental collaboration with internal and external partners

Requirements

  • Several years of professional experience as a Social Media Manager
  • Experience in media festivals, cultural management, and/or project organization
  • Independent and precise working style
  • Confident use of social media platforms (Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, LinkedIn, etc.)
  • A good sense for trends, digital and visual storytelling, and authentic communication
  • Knowledge of Adobe InDesign, Meta Business Manager, CapCut, Premiere Pro is an advantage
  • Confident use of MS Office and digital applications such as newsletter and CMS systems
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Very good German and English skills, spoken and written; additional languages are an advantage.
