Responsibilities
- Assist in month-end closing and prepare manual journal entries
- Assist Controller with maintaining and implementing financial controls
- Prepare detailed account reconciliations and analyze data
- Lead Balance Sheet review on a quarterly basis
- Manage Fixed Asset system including setting up new Fixed assets and calculating depreciation
- Support internal and external financial reporting
- Act as Finance lead with external recycling companies
- Support Controller with cashflow forecasting and tracking
- Reconcile all Bank Accounts monthly
- Record and track retail sales and convert to Head Office ERP
- Assist with Audits of Retail Store Outlets and procedures for cash management and inventory control
- Assume a leadership role to guide other accounting personnel in daily tasks
- Participate in special projects as required
Requirements
- Completed a University degree in accounting, finance, business administration or a related field
- Valid CPA designation or in final stages of completion
- At least 5 years accounting experience with progressive responsibility in a Corporate Accounting environment
- Knowledgeable in generally accepted accounting principles and cost accounting standards
- Adaptable to new and different computer programs and software
- Excellent research and analysis skills
- Experience with ERP systems such as NetSuite, preferably in a food manufacturing environment
- Full knowledge of corporate purchasing policies, processes, and procedures
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products including Microsoft Teams
