About the role

• System Engineer responsible for Kubernetes orchestration and security in online banking solutions at Finmas. Involves CI/CD pipeline maintenance and application security measures.

Responsibilities

• Operation and orchestration of containerized applications with Kubernetes, including securing them by implementing RBAC, Network Policies and Pod Security Policies
• Implement container security measures, including image scanning and vulnerability management
• Create, maintain and manage Helm charts for deployment automation
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI or GitHub Actions
• Implement and operate monitoring and logging solutions (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack)
• Diagnose and resolve performance, deployment, and networking issues in distributed systems
• Automate infrastructure management using Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Terraform or Pulumi

Requirements

• Several years of professional experience in a similar role
• Willingness to participate in backend development
• Solid knowledge and hands-on experience with Kubernetes and containerized applications, and confident use of container technologies such as Docker or containerd
• Ideally, experience working with AWS S3
• Experience creating and maintaining Helm charts
• Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform, Pulumi or similar)
• Good shell scripting skills and experience with Linux tools
• Knowledge of configuring firewall and routing components
• A Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) certification is desirable
• Good communication skills, both written and verbal, with German at a minimum C1 level
• Strong team orientation and enthusiasm for actively shaping collaboration
