About the role
- Senior Manager in Cable System Engineering responsible for international submarine cable systems and ensuring business requirements are met. Overseeing projects and coordinating with cable providers for effective implementation.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical support for the planning and implementation of international submarine cable systems and projects.
- Coordinate internally and externally for submarine cable project implementation and delivery.
- Participate in project planning and implementation meetings and protect the Company’s interests.
- Negotiate terms and conditions with submarine cable providers for agreements, contracts and order forms.
- Work with counterparts to manage PCCWG cable stations; resources to meet the Company's needs.
- Oversee the quality of services and products provided and installed by cable partners and suppliers, meeting the Company’s expectations.
- Track and provide regular and ad hoc subsea cable CAPEX cashflow reports to Finance and Management.
- Provide technical support to the Product and Operations Teams for the effective use of subsea cable capacity and the operation and maintenance of cable system equipment.
Requirements
- A university degree in Electronic Engineering or Electrical Engineering
- At least 7 years experience managing transmission equipment projects or submarine cable systems/projects
- Well-versed in submarine cable systems and the latest telecommunications technologies
- Practical experience in preparing procurement and tender documents
- Demonstrates a strong results focus with a proven history of meeting ambitious project deadlines successfully
- Good project management, presentation and interpersonal skills
- Good command of spoken and written English and Chinese (Putonghua).
