About the role

• System Engineer developing online banking solutions for Sparkassen. Involved in Kubernetes orchestration, CI/CD pipelines, and monitoring solutions.

Responsibilities

• Operation and orchestration of containerized applications with Kubernetes and securing them by implementing RBAC, Network Policies, and Pod Security Policies
• Execution of container security measures, including image scanning and vulnerability management
• Creation, maintenance, and upkeep of Helm charts for deployment automation
• Building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines with tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or GitHub Actions
• Implementation and operation of monitoring and logging solutions (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack)
• Diagnosis and resolution of performance, deployment, and network issues in distributed systems
• Automation of infrastructure management with Infrastructure-as-Code tools like Terraform or Pulumi

Requirements

• Several years of professional experience in a similar role
• Willingness to contribute to backend development
• Solid knowledge and hands-on experience with Kubernetes and containerized applications
• Confident handling of container technologies such as Docker or containerd
• Preferably experience with AWS S3
• Knowledge in creating and maintaining Helm charts
• Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform, Pulumi or equivalent)
• Good shell scripting skills and experience with Linux tools
• Knowledge in configuring firewall and routing components
• A Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) certification is desirable
• Good communication skills in German (at least C1)
• Strong team orientation and enjoyment in actively shaping collaboration
