Responsibilities
Prepares nonimmigrant and immigrant petitions, applications, and supporting documentation for attorney review in a timely manner
Drafts support letters and assembles filing packages in accordance with applicable regulations and firm standards
Manages multiple immigration matters concurrently at various stages of preparation and adjudication
Reviews documents and information to assist attorneys with issue-spotting and case strategy development
Monitors filed and pending matters, escalating irregularities, delays, or risks as appropriate
Communicates clearly and professionally with clients, attorneys, internal staff, and government agencies, both verbally and in writing
Requests, organizes, and tracks client documentation to ensure completeness and compliance
Provides status updates and responds to routine inquiries regarding immigration matters
Utilizes internal data management systems to maintain accurate, current case records
Generates reports for internal and client use as required
Ensures adherence to firm policies, immigration regulations, and confidentiality requirements
Assists with continuous process improvement related to case tracking and workflow efficiency
Requirements
Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university preferred
High school diploma or GED required
Paralegal certification required; substantial equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of certification
Minimum of three (3) years of U.S. business immigration experience, preferably in a law firm setting
Investor visa experience preferred, but not required
Demonstrated experience preparing nonimmigrant and immigrant petitions and applications
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision
Ability to manage deadlines and prioritize competing demands
Innovative, independent thinker with strong problem-solving skills
