Responsibilities
Lead Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) programs in two food production facilities
Champion a culture of proactive safety excellence through ownership, engagement, continuous improvement, and partner involvement across all facilities
Oversee the development, implementation, and maintenance of safety programs (e.g., LOTO, Confined Space, Arc Flash, Hot Work, PPE, Ladder Safety), emergency response plans, SMS/SDS documentation, Master Chemical List, Product Specifications, and regulatory materials
Provide strategic leadership and development for Safety Managers and site safety teams
Oversee the design and delivery of safety training programs for all personnel
Drive continuous EHS improvement by tracking KPIs, leading incident investigations, and implementing sustainable corrective actions
Conduct regular site audits, risk assessments, and hazard analyses to proactively identify and mitigate risks
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in occupational safety, industrial training or related field
Minimum of five years of experience facilitating and developing safety programs in a manufacturing environment
Extensive knowledge of current company safety policies and applicable Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards
Previous experience in the processed meat industry is strongly preferred
Must possess excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
Must have the ability to develop and conduct training classes covering a wide variety of safety topics to a diverse work group
Must possess advanced computer proficiency, specifically with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and the Internet
Must possess basic math skills, with the ability to work with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
