Responsibilities
- Manage a Software development team
- Responsible for the design, implementation, testing and delivery of software for Digital Instruments on our flagship products/platform
- Create sizing and milestone based development schedules for new features
- Ensure delivery of high-quality software within time and budget
- Collaborate with technical subject matter experts to understand software requirements for new system features
- Drive, spearhead and strategize with stakeholders on software delivery for time critical projects
- Provide technical and management oversight of the development of functional specifications and design documents based on requirements
- Monitor progress, take corrective action as needed
- Report status to software and project management
- Provide career coaching and feedback to employees
Requirements
- BS in CS, CE or EE
- MS preferred
- At least 1-3 years functional management experience
- Experience executing against all phases of the software development life cycle
- Excellent oral, written, and presentation skills
- Excellent interpersonal relationship skills and ability to resolve conflicts especially cross teams
- Energetic team player who can motivate a variety of people and disciplines
- Experience with interdisciplinary team and long-term projects
- Solid grasp of Object-Oriented Design
- Passion for highly predictable quality releases
- Experienced programmer (C/C++, MS Visual Studio)
- Experience developing software for hardware instrumentation
- Experience working with HW engineers and FPGA developers
- Proven track record in managing multi-site teams in different locations
- Proven success as a manager with a good track record of delivery to production for customer facing products
- Experience with semiconductor test or industrial controller software/hardware
- Experience communicating over various busses; GPIB, I2C, SPI, PCIe, etc.
