About the role
- Civil Engineer designing and optimizing utility-scale onshore wind projects at Uniper. Collaborating on civil and mechanical engineering efforts and ensuring code compliance.
Responsibilities
- Create and review site engineering designs for utility-scale onshore wind projects (focus on, but not limited to, civil and mechanical topics)
- Deliver designs and optimizations in accordance with applicable codes, standards, and industry best practices
- Conduct technical due diligence and site investigations, including cost and quantity estimations
- Perform structural analyses and foundation design for wind turbines
- Plan routing, access roads, and crane pads
- Define and oversee external engineering services, including the scope of technical contracts
- Respond to the needs of internal stakeholders and project requirements
- Provide feedback and contribute to continuous improvement in all areas
Requirements
- Degree in civil engineering or a related field (advanced vocational qualifications and practical experience will be considered)
- At least three years of relevant work experience in wind engineering (civil)
- Experience in foundation and crane pad design for wind turbines is preferred
- Membership in a German chamber of engineers is preferred
- Strong Civil 3D and AutoCAD skills (knowledge of other software is helpful)
- Knowledge of Eurocode, IEC standards, and industry practices
- Creative and open-minded individual with a good sense of humor
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Proven track record of international work experience
- Willingness to travel internationally
- Fluent in English; additional languages are a plus
