Responsibilities

  • Architecting the Future of Professional Career Matching
  • Shape and execute a bold 2–3 year technical roadmap focused on platform scalability, AI integration, and performance.
  • Lead the modernization of our tech stack, boosting fault tolerance, developer velocity, and system resilience.
  • Partner with the Chief Innovation Officer and AI leadership to build predictive career intelligence features, not just reactive matching.
  • Embed yourself in C-suite strategy, aligning business goals (LTV, growth, revenue) with technical outcomes.
  • Direct and mentor senior tech leaders across engineering, infrastructure, and architecture, scaling a team beyond 70 engineers.
  • Craft a talent strategy to attract, grow, and retain top-tier technical talent, from senior engineers to AI specialists.
  • Champion a culture of excellence, inclusion, and psychological safety, where innovation and quality go hand in hand.
  • Own key engineering metrics (including DORA), setting targets for developer experience and system efficiency.
  • Manage technology investments, vendor partnerships, and the overall engineering budget to maximize ROI.
  • Define and uphold platform-wide SLAs/SLOs, error budgets, and observability standards to ensure global reliability.
  • Develop and implement a data strategy that powers AI, analytics, and decision-making, while maintaining regulatory compliance (GDPR and more).

Requirements

  • C-level or senior VP experience scaling engineering organizations within fast-growing SaaS or high-volume digital platforms
  • Proven ability to lead digital transformation, modernizing legacy platforms for scale, speed, and AI-readiness.
  • Deep architectural acumen and ability to navigate complex technical trade-offs with senior engineers.
  • Hands-on experience taking AI/ML from prototype to production, delivering real business outcomes.
  • Executive-level communication skills and presence, with the ability to influence boards, investors, and non-technical leaders.
  • Expertise in modern cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure), web architectures, and distributed systems.
  • Fluent in English (German is a plus).
