About the role

  • Network Engineer overseeing tactical network engineering projects for DOD systems at Aberdeen Proving Ground. Managing design, configuration, testing, and integration in a controlled lab environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning, execution, and management of tactical network engineering projects
  • Oversee all phases of network testing, configuration, and integration
  • Design and implement tactical network solutions in the lab
  • Work closely with network engineers, digital engineers, cybersecurity specialists, and systems integrators
  • Supervise the testing and validation of network solutions
  • Ensure network designs and configurations comply with DOD cybersecurity standards
  • Maintain comprehensive records of network configurations and project progress
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for Janus Research Group and DOD stakeholders

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Network Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 5+ years of experience in tactical network engineering
  • Project Management Certification (PMP, Scrum Master, or similar) is highly preferred
  • Proven experience supporting DOD contracts
  • Hands-on experience with network design, configuration, and integration within lab-based environments
  • Strong understanding of network security protocols and cybersecurity requirements for DOD systems
  • Familiarity with digital engineering tools, such as Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) platforms and simulation systems
