About the role
- Database Analyst II responsible for creating and optimizing database structures at Jabil. Collaborating with teams to ensure data integrity and performance within business applications.
Responsibilities
- Design, analyze, and maintain relational database structures to support business applications and analytics needs.
- Develop, review, and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, views, and scripts to ensure high performance and scalability.
- Monitor database performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement tuning and optimization strategies.
- Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and integrity through validation, constraints, and data quality checks.
- Support database deployments and changes across development, staging, and production environments, following Jabil change management processes.
- Collaborate with developers to review database-related code and ensure adherence to architectural and coding standards.
- Implement and maintain database security, access controls, and compliance with data protection policies.
- Document database designs, data models, and technical standards to support maintainability and knowledge sharing.
- Provide support and troubleshooting for database-related incidents and service requests.
- Monitor and manage storage capacity and scalability.
- Install new database software and configure system parameters for optimal performance.
- Apply software updates and security patches to fix bugs and protect the system against vulnerabilities.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Strong proficiency in SQL and database concepts (tables, indexes, joins, constraints, transactions).
- Experience working with MS SQL Server 2019/2022, Postgres, MySQL, or similar platforms.
- Solid understanding of database design principles, normalization, and performance tuning (index maintenance, update statistics, execution plans, etc).
- Experience supporting high availability, failover clusters, backup/restore tasks, utilization of diagnostics tools.
- Familiarity with Windows 2022 server, Storage Area Network and AWS Cloud Computing.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish).
