About the role

  • Accountant Specialist at ISA Energía Brasil ensuring compliance with IFRS and regulations. Leading projects and technical discussions to improve accounting processes in a hybrid work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, direct and support technical discussions to ensure timely delivery of external audit deliverables
  • Support coordination in providing technical guidance, training and process direction for the team
  • Provide guidance and act as the focal point in discussions for implementation of new functionalities and IFRS process improvements
  • Monitor and ensure the application of Internal Controls (SOX)
  • Lead projects implementing new accounting standards (IFRS and regulatory) and provide strong support on regulatory and IFRS fixed asset matters
  • Interface with areas that integrate with IFRS
  • Prepare memoranda, standards and policies
  • Provide technical leadership for improvements to the period-end closing process
  • Review and guide verification, analysis and reclassification work of project entries, costs and accounts receivable, ensuring compliance with CPC 47, CPC 27 and CPC 16 for ISA ENERGIA BRASIL and subsidiaries across all levels of complexity
  • Review and guide the analysis of the Recovery of Asset Performance (RAP) by project type and the returns on investments of the Company and subsidiaries, ensuring compliance with CPC 47 and alignment with ANEEL PRORETs
  • Review the analysis and determination of results for Asset Disposal (ODA), decommissioned equipment (ODD), Service Orders (ODS) and Reimbursable Orders (ODR), liaising with Company areas to emphasize the importance of complying with established procedures and meeting ANEEL regulatory requirements
  • Prepare the Fixed Asset statement by extracting system data and compiling the information to meet headquarters’ needs and ANEEL requirements
  • Review and audit fixed asset depreciation calculations by extracting system-generated information to complete the accounting period close
  • Supervise and/or perform reconciliations of accounts related to the control of Property, Plant and Equipment (fixed assets), Contract Assets, Orders, Leases and Actuarial Reports, and ensure proper classification and supporting documentation in accordance with applicable accounting legislation
  • Drive company vehicles when necessary, provided the employee is duly licensed and authorized, as a required condition to perform job-related duties
  • Comply with internal and external regulations, policies and instructions; participate in and receive training on anti-corruption, anti-bribery and compliance topics, occupational health, hygiene and safety standards, quality management systems and environmental preservation, and use PPE/CPE (personal/collective protective equipment) when required by the activity
  • Perform other duties inherent to the role or as directed by the immediate supervisor, provided the employee is qualified and tasks align with their knowledge and experience

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, supplemented by postgraduate specialization courses and an active CRC (Brazilian professional accounting registration)
  • Strong knowledge of: International Accounting Standards (IFRS); fixed assets / property, plant and equipment (deep knowledge and practical experience); extensive experience with accounting standards, policies and preparation of accounting manuals; experience in systems implementation and in the energy sector
