About the role

  • Design Engineer overseeing Ingersoll Rand's Air Treatment products like chillers and dryers. Responsible for designing and optimizing refrigeration systems adhering to environmental standards.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee Designing, Developing, and supporting the technical work for Ingersoll Rand's Air Treatment product portfolio, which includes the different types of Refrigerated Compressed Air dryers, Chillers and Filters.
  • Design and optimize refrigeration systems and sub-system components in alignment with evolving environmental standards, utilizing next-generation refrigerants such as R454C, R513A, R290, and other A2L/A3 types.
  • Lead the sizing of heat exchangers, Refrigerant compressors and other system components.
  • Estimate the system heat load estimation and optimize the system with Simulation tool.
  • Execute the components level and system level thermal load estimation using advance mechanical tool.
  • System Modeling and Components selection/Optimization for best performance & cost.
  • Execute the NPD and i2V(Innovation to value) projects as per Ingersoll Rand’s IRPX following the Phase Gate process.
  • Maintain comprehensive design documentation to support verification and traceability.
  • Collaborate with global stakeholders to ensure engineering deliverables meet business objectives.
  • Execute core engineering processes including DFMEA, safety reviews, DVP&R, root cause analysis (RCA), and sustainability assessments.
  • Develop key components in partnership with suppliers, driving results through design optimization.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of hands-on experience in product development for industrial chillers, compressed air refrigerated dryers, or medium-to-large HVAC systems, with deep proficiency in Refrigeration Application.
  • 4+ Year Experienced in the design and development of thermal systems and heat exchangers (bar & plate HE, Micro channel HE, BPHE, Shell & tube etc.), including expertise in their sizing and performance calculations.
  • Expertise in the design, Selection and development of thermal systems/Components, including accurate sizing and performance calculations.
  • 2+ years of experience of PED/ ASME certification for Pressured vessel and piping components.
  • 2+ years of experience on developing technical documents like DFMEA, DVP&R, root cause analysis (RCA).
