About the role

Responsibilities
- Perform routine accounting activities under general supervision
- Provide support for the Financial Accounting and Control team(s) with clerical tasks and records management
- Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and governmental filing requirements
- Assist in providing the financial statements for the business
- Maintain general ledger subledgers for balance sheet and process monthly journal entries
- Participate in the monthly close process by generating journal entries and preparing reconciliations
- Classify, examine, and analyze accounting records and prepare financial reports
- Maintain facility fixed asset records and governmental filing requirements
- Assist accounting team in preparing for annual company internal audits
- Ensure financial business processes comply with GAAP and/or governmental requirements
Requirements
- 3-4 years of relevant experience with a manufacturing company
- Thorough understanding and experience in financial accounting and control processes
- Ability to maintain AR ledger and proactively resolve issues
- Strong attention to detail and good organizational skills
- Ability to solve problems in straightforward situations
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
- Strong excel knowledge required, proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and database management tools
- Post-Secondary Degree in Accounting or equivalent
