About the role

  • Consultant - Data Engineering Specialist supporting public health surveillance data ecosystem. Focused on automated data integrations and ensuring data flows securely across systems.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical guidance on automated data ingestion and integration mechanisms
  • Support implementation and monitoring of API/HL7/SQL-based pipelines
  • Review and optimize database structures and ETL/ELT processes
  • Ensure data security, integrity, and compliance (GDPR)
  • Troubleshoot integration and data processing issues
  • Oversee backup, retention, and version control processes
  • Collaborate with data governance and analytics stakeholders
  • Contribute to UAT and technical documentation

Requirements

  • Degree in Data Engineering, IT, or related field
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in data engineering or database-driven projects
  • Advanced SQL knowledge (certification or documented experience required)
  • Experience with automated integrations (API, HL7 or similar)
  • Understanding of database management and workflow automation
  • Fluent English (minimum B2 level) **
