About the role

  • Deputy Operations Manager overseeing operations for Intrepid Travel trips in Utah. Responsible for performance, field staff communication, and administrative duties in the Utah branch.

Responsibilities

  • Provide the main point of contact for field staff working in the Utah branch as well as the Operations teams
  • Responsible for the overall performance of all trips, including maintaining and operating a branch warehouse location
  • Perform business administrative duties related to the branch
  • Support the contracting, reservations, sales and other functions for the branch
  • Perform other duties from time to time which may fall outside the scope of these responsibilities as business circumstances dictate

Requirements

  • Travel industry work experience, preferably as a tour leader or guide
  • Extensive knowledge of the field area
  • Excellent communication (verbal & written) in English
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office/Excel and previous experience with a CRM system; Salesforce preferred
  • Strong supervisory, facilitation and organization skills
  • Office duties required, ability to lift up-to 20 pounds and work at a computer station up to 40 hours-per-week
  • Meet company and DOT driving requirements and maintain a valid Driver’s License
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Maintain a current Wilderness First Responder, CPR & Epi Certification
  • Must pass a background check
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and be available for random drug screens (CA only)
