About the role
- Deputy Operations Manager overseeing travel operations in Iceland for Intrepid Travel. Supporting the Operations Manager in ensuring smooth delivery of group trips and travel products.
Responsibilities
- Provide hands-on operational and managerial support to the Operations Manager and wider management team
- Ensure the smooth, safe and profitable delivery of Intrepid group trips and other travel products
- Play a key role in day-to-day operations, supporting leaders, solving problems as they arise
- Uphold the standards set out in Intrepid’s Service Level Agreement
Requirements
- Extensive travel experience in Iceland, with a strong understanding of the destination and local operating environment
- Travel industry experience, ideally as a Tour Leader or in an operational role
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in both English and Icelandic
- Experience coaching, training, or supporting leaders and teams (desirable)
- Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks at once
- Sound decision-making skills and the confidence to work independently when required
- A strong commitment to customer satisfaction and high-quality trip delivery
- Alignment with Intrepid’s Responsible Travel philosophy and style of travel
- High computer literacy, including Microsoft Word and Excel
- Flexibility to work varied hours, including being on-call outside office hours and attending operational functions when needed
