Deputy Operations Manager overseeing travel operations in Iceland for Intrepid Travel. Supporting the Operations Manager in ensuring smooth delivery of group trips and travel products.
Responsibilities
Provide hands-on operational and managerial support to the Operations Manager and wider management team
Ensure the smooth, safe and profitable delivery of Intrepid group trips and other travel products
Play a key role in day-to-day operations, supporting leaders, solving problems as they arise
Uphold the standards set out in Intrepid’s Service Level Agreement
Requirements
Extensive travel experience in Iceland, with a strong understanding of the destination and local operating environment
Travel industry experience, ideally as a Tour Leader or in an operational role
Strong written and verbal communication skills in both English and Icelandic
Experience coaching, training, or supporting leaders and teams (desirable)
Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks at once
Sound decision-making skills and the confidence to work independently when required
A strong commitment to customer satisfaction and high-quality trip delivery
Alignment with Intrepid’s Responsible Travel philosophy and style of travel
High computer literacy, including Microsoft Word and Excel
Flexibility to work varied hours, including being on-call outside office hours and attending operational functions when needed
