About the role
- Internal Property Claims Adjuster assisting customers with home insurance claims. Investigating and managing claims for personal and commercial lines within a supportive team environment.
Responsibilities
- Open new claims over the phone with customers, then ensure the situation is handled immediately.
- Analyze information gathered, determine claim validity, investigate the circumstances, identify causes and reassess damage evaluations as needed.
- Interview policyholders and/or witnesses to gather their accounts of events.
- Use tools efficiently.
- Determine subrogation in claim files.
- Manage reserves effectively.
- Manage your office and priorities efficiently.
- Check the insured’s policy details to determine coverage.
- Collaborate effectively with various teams, including appraisal, underwriting and subrogation.
- Ensure effective cost management.
Requirements
- Class 5a and/or 5b claims adjuster licence
- At least one to two years of experience as a claims adjuster
- Solid understanding of insurance products
- Strong time-management skills
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- A good understanding of the claims process
- Consistent performance and productivity
- Bilingualism (English and French): Required
