Internal Property Claims Adjuster assisting customers with home insurance claims. Investigating and managing claims for personal and commercial lines within a supportive team environment.
Responsibilities
Open new claims over the phone with customers, then ensure the situation is handled immediately.
Analyze information gathered, determine claim validity, investigate the circumstances, identify causes and reassess damage evaluations as needed.
Interview policyholders and/or witnesses to gather their accounts of events.
Use tools efficiently.
Determine subrogation in claim files.
Manage reserves effectively.
Manage your office and priorities efficiently.
Check the insured’s policy details to determine coverage.
Collaborate effectively with various teams, including appraisal, underwriting and subrogation.
Ensure effective cost management.
Requirements
Class 5a and/or 5b claims adjuster licence
At least one to two years of experience as a claims adjuster
Solid understanding of insurance products
Strong time-management skills
Excellent written and oral communication skills
A good understanding of the claims process
Consistent performance and productivity
Bilingualism (English and French): Required
